Life is not what I expected it to be.
Perhaps you can identify with this statement.
How can we make sense of the unexpected twists and turns of life? How can we empower ourselves and heal from past experiences so we can more fully enjoy our present moments? How can we envision and create new possibilities that connect us to our aliveness? I ask these questions of myself and with the folks I sit with.
I am excited for this opportunity to learn and grow at Quiet Healing Counselling & Yoga. With this introduction, I lean into the fact that I am learning myself as a therapist and welcome this unfolding. I invite you into this process, too. This unpredictable, sometimes indescribable experience of your own unfolding. I am very honored to join together in this sacred space.
As a student, I am discovering what I like and what works for me and the people I serve. So far, I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Expressive Therapies including image making, movement, and storytelling, Mindfulness for chronic pain and mental health, Neurobiology with Heart, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to promote our journeys back to ourselves. A genuine empathy and desire to ease suffering through the creation of safe spaces and expression fuel my practice.
If you feel inspired, please reach out. I am available Tuesday through Thursday mornings, and some weekends and evenings.
Take good care,
😊 Megan (she/they)
