A Bit About Us
We currently offer services in-person, video chat or phone. We look forward to connecting with you!
Within this space we offer groups, workshops, specialized yoga classes and individual counselling. We believe in the healing power of affirming spaces and hold awareness for the many intersections and social locations in our work. We find joy in collaborating with community groups to share in the space in the ways that we can.
Currently sharing in the space are Heather Rowland (MSW, RCSW, CYA-RYT 200) and Jody Francis, (MSW, RSW). While we enjoy sharing in the Quiet Healing Space, we are each sole proprietors with our own identities, business models, approaches, and skill sets.

OCSWSSW (Ontario) #842539 CYA-RYT 200 It's important to feel like your counsellor is a good fit for you. Here is a bit of information that might help you decide if you'd like to connect. I love what I do. I have deep respect for the messiness of the healing journey and believe we are born with deep capacity to love, heal and connect but sometimes the structures and systems we live in disconnect us from living from that space. I view much of the counselling process as helping folks reconnect with their own wisdom for healing, no matter how deep the pain. I see myself as on a lifelong journey to lovingly disrupt how systems of privilege influence the counselling journey, ideas of 'normal', and what wellness looks like. I am dedicated to exploring the multiple intersections of my identity and it's impact on the folks I journey with and the systems I interact with. Counselling I have a passion for working with relational trauma and am drawn towards more holistic and "bottom up" models of practice. I have experience and training in a wide range of models and theories including AEDP, Sensori-motor Psychotherapy, Hakomi, Poly Vagal theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment based EMDR, CBT, DBT and Gottman therapy. Yoga In addition to various training on trauma, I completed 60 hours of training in Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga with the founders of the model, Dave Emerson and Jennifer Turner. I've taken additional training on yoga for depression, anxiety, anger and poly vagal yoga. I enjoy facilitating groups using these modalities to help guide clients to live more whole lives. Teaching and Supervision I enjoy teaching and offering supervision to professionals newer to the field. At times, I teach as a sessional instructor in post-secondary settings or act as an external supervisor for the U of C Graduate and/or Undergraduate degree programs. I have my Approved Clinical Supervisor designation through the ACSW. I am often described as warm and compassionate, yet practical and honest. If it seems like we might be able to work well together, I invite you to contact me to set up an appointment. I am currently accepting new clients and am available to be with folks Tuesday-Friday, 9-4. With warmth and gratitude, Heather (she/her) |

Welcome to Quiet Healing! I am fortunate to be working alongside Heather Rowland. Her vision for this space mirrors my own passionate interest in creating a warm and safe space for my client’s healing. I am grateful to hear that when people meet me, they can sense my deep sense of caring and compassion for humanity. I am intent upon creating awareness and insight, encouraging action, nurturing healing, cultivating joy, and supporting people in changing their lives. Byron Katie contends that ‘things happen for us, not to us.’ I believe that interpreting our lived experiences (the good, the bad and the ugly), through that lens can foster wonderful and powerful insights into living our best possible life. I am dedicated to helping individuals in the areas of; anxiety, depression, stress management, life's transitions, interpersonal concerns, relationships, self-esteem/personal identity, exploration of sexual and gender identity, and personal growth. I also have a passion for helping individuals process their loss and grief and, along the way, have developed a keen interest in supporting those women and families who have experienced a pregnancy loss. My other areas of interest include working with adults and persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Through a strong Person-Centered approach, I practice from an eclectic and collaborative approach drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Brief Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Strengths-Based Approaches. I am honoured to lean into people’s hearts and help them harness their own strengths and resources while finding their way through their personal challenges. If you are interested in getting a sense of whether we would be a good fit to work together, please feel free to contact me. I am currently taking appointments Tuesdays to Thursdays afternoons and early evenings. I also work a couple of Friday afternoons a month. Kind regards, Jody Francis, MSW, RSW |
