I see myself as on a lifelong journey to lovingly disrupt how systems of privilege influence the counselling journey, ideas of 'normal', and what wellness looks like. I am dedicated to exploring the multiple parts of my identity and it's impact on the folks I journey with and the systems I interact with.
Counselling
I have a passion for working with relational trauma and am drawn towards more holistic and "bottom up" models of practice. I have experience and training in a wide range of models and theories including AEDP, Sensori-motor Psychotherapy, Hakomi, Poly Vagal theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment based EMDR, CBT, DBT and Gottman therapy.
Yoga
In addition to various training on trauma, I completed 60 hours of training in Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga with the founders of the model, Dave Emerson and Jennifer Turner. I've taken additional training on yoga for depression, anxiety, anger and poly vagal yoga and completed Pain Care Aware yoga to support folks with chronic pain. I enjoy facilitating groups using these modalities to help guide clients to live more whole lives.
Teaching and Supervision
I enjoy teaching and offering supervision to professionals newer to the field. At times, I teach as a sessional instructor in post-secondary settings or act as an external supervisor for the U of C Graduate and/or Undergraduate degree programs. I have my Approved Clinical Supervisor designation through the ACSW.
I am often described as warm and compassionate, yet practical and honest. If it seems like we might be able to work well together, I invite you to contact me to set up a short consult. I currently have a short waitlist and my typical hours are Tuesday to Friday, 9-4.
With warmth and gratitude,
